NHCSL MOURNS THE PASSING OF SENATOR EDWARD M. KENNEDY

Washington, DC – The National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators mourns the passing of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, a friend to the Latino community, and tireless advocate for the rights of all Americans. “For nearly five decades, Senator Kennedy carried on his family’s cause of service and advocacy, fighting for the rights of all Americans in the U.S. Senate. His voice will be missed in the days and debates ahead,” stated Representative Joseph Miro, President, NHCSL.

“We will look to Senator Kennedy’s legacy as we continue our advocacy for equity in education, health, and quality of life for Latinos and all Americans. May the Senator’s family be comforted in knowing Senator Kennedy’s leadership shall live on in all that we do to create policies that enhance quality of life across America,” said Liz Burgos, Executive Director, NHCSL.
