HISPANIC STATE LEGISLATORS ISSUE REPORT ON HEALTH DISPARITIES AND USEFUL TOOL FOR STATE LEGISLATORS
New report reviews state laws addressing pressing health concerns
Washington, DC – The National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL) released a report that recaps six years of health disparities conferences and a selection of state laws enacted to address the most pressing Hispanic health concerns. The report, made possible by support from Astra Zeneca, LP, presents recommendations from experts who have addressed NHCSL members during these conferences – and includes a powerful reference for legislators seeking to take additional action in their state.
“NHCSL members work extensively with our partners to address the Hispanic community’s most pressing health concerns. This report provides a valuable tool for legislators seeking action tools for addressing diseases and the health challenges that hurt quality of life for so many, said Sen. Iris Y. Martinez (IL), NHCSL President.
“Since 2003, Astra Zeneca has been a proud partner to NHCSL in addressing Hispanic health disparities. Our support of the ongoing health disparities conferences brought Hispanic state legislators together with experts in the fields of medicine and public health, resulting in action in states around the country, “ said XXXXXX, Astra Zeneca.
The report can be found online at XXXXXXXX.
