NHCSL RESPONDS TO
SENATE EFFORTS ON IMMIGRATION REFORM
Washington, DC – The president of the National
Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL),
Assemblyman Felix Ortiz (NY), released the
following statement regarding today’s Senate
efforts on immigration reform:
“The time has come for Congress to develop and
finalize a solid immigration reform bill. I am
encouraged by Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist
and Minority Leader Harry Reid’s efforts that
will hopefully lead the charge to build a
consensus and do what is right for this country.
NHCSL will continue to stand vigilant on the
progress of immigration reform and looks forward
to participating in the ongoing debates.”
